How to add Pilely to Claude

Pilely has a connector for Claude. Add it once, and Claude can build your app, put it online at its own link and keep improving it, all from an ordinary chat. That works on claude.ai, in the Claude desktop app and in the Claude app on your phone. You don’t need Claude Code, a folder on your computer or any coding.

What you need

  • A Claude account on any plan: Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. The Free plan allows one custom connector.
  • An email address. Pilely signs you in with a code sent to it. There is no password, and your first sign-in creates your Pilely account.
  • On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector for everyone first. See Team and Enterprise plans.

The connector address

This is the one thing to copy exactly. Claude asks for it when you add the connector:

On your phone (iPhone and Android)

You can add Pilely right in the Claude app on your phone.

  1. Tap the menu (☰) at the top left, then your initials at the bottom, then Settings.
  2. Under App, tap Connectors.
  3. Tap + at the top right, then Add custom connector.
  4. Name it Pilely, paste https://mcp.pilely.app/mcp as the MCP server URL and tap Continue.
  5. Claude checks the server and picks the sign-in settings itself: Sign in now and Register automatically. Keep them and add the connector.
  6. Pilely’s sign-in page opens: sign in to Pilely. When you’re back, Claude shows Connected to Pilely.

If you’d rather not approve every step Claude takes with Pilely, tap Pilely in your connectors, then All tools, and choose Always allow. Connectors follow your Claude account, so once Pilely is added on your phone, it’s on the web and in the desktop app too, and the other way round.

On the web (claude.ai)

  1. Open claude.ai in your browser and sign in.
  2. Go to Customize, then Connectors. On some accounts this is under Settings.
  3. Choose Add custom connector. It may sit behind an Add or + button.
  4. Name it Pilely, paste https://mcp.pilely.app/mcp as the server URL and choose Continue or Add.
  5. Claude checks the server and picks the sign-in settings itself: Sign in now and Register automatically. Keep them and choose Add.
  6. Choose Connect. Pilely’s sign-in page opens: go on with Sign in to Pilely.

Sign in to Pilely

  1. Enter your email address on the Pilely sign-in page at auth.pilely.app.
  2. Open the email from Pilely and enter the 6-digit code.
  3. Pilely asks Connect to Pilely? Choose Approve. You’re sent back to Claude, and Pilely shows as connected.

Only ever type the code into Pilely’s sign-in page, never into a chat.

In the desktop app

The Claude desktop app for Mac and Windows uses the same menus as the web. If you already added Pilely on the web or on your phone, skip this: your connectors follow your Claude account, so Pilely is already there.

  1. Open the Claude desktop app.
  2. Go to Customize, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
  3. Paste https://mcp.pilely.app/mcp, add it and choose Connect. Then sign in to Pilely.

Team and Enterprise plans

On these plans, members can’t add a custom connector themselves. An Owner adds it once for the organization, and then each person connects with their own Pilely account.

  • Owners: go to Organization settings, then Connectors. Choose Add, then Custom, then Web, paste https://mcp.pilely.app/mcp and add it.
  • Members: go to Customize, then Connectors, find Pilely (marked Custom) and choose Connect. Then sign in to Pilely.

Build your first app

Start a new chat, check that Pilely is on under + and Connectors, and send a message like this one, or describe your own app in your own words:

  1. Claude may ask a question or two about what you want.
  2. Claude builds the app with Pilely and publishes it, then gives you its link. Open it: your app is live, and you can send the link to anyone.
  3. Keep going in the same chat. Ask for changes whenever you like, and Claude puts the new version online.

That link is how you know everything works.

If something doesn’t work

  • Claude doesn’t use Pilely. Start a new chat, and check that Pilely is turned on under + and Connectors.
  • There is no Add custom connector option. Your Claude account may be managed by a company or school. Ask an Owner to add Pilely, as in Team and Enterprise plans.
  • You’re on the Free plan and already have a custom connector. Free allows one. Remove the other under Customize and Connectors, or upgrade your Claude plan.
  • The code doesn’t arrive. Check your spam folder, then ask for a new code on the sign-in page.
  • Claude asks you to connect again. Choose Connect and sign in to Pilely again. This happens from time to time.

Common questions

Do I need Claude Code? No. The connector works in any Claude chat. If you do use Claude Code, there is also a guide for building with Claude Code.

What can Claude do with the connector? It can create your apps, read and change their files, publish them, and read or change their data, on your Pilely account only. You can turn Pilely off in any chat, or remove it under Customize and Connectors.

What does it cost? Building uses the Claude plan you already have. Running your app is paid for with prepaid Pilely credits, and you pay only for what it uses. New accounts get up to $5 of free credit to start.

Can I use ChatGPT instead? Yes. Your apps, data and users live on Pilely, not inside a chat, so you can switch any time. See how to add Pilely to ChatGPT.
