No monthly fee. No charge for AI: you build with the AI you already have.
Everything except storage is charged to the app owner’s serving credits, whoever makes the request: a visitor, a signed-in user, the app’s own server or the owner. Serving credits are in US dollars, shared by every Pilely service, and never expire. Every account gets up to $5 free: $1 at signup, then $1 for each day you use Pilely. GB is 1,024³ bytes.
Traffic
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| Response1 | $0.00000133 per response |
| Response bytes2 | $0.30 per GB |
| Website file request, public app3 | $0.00000024 per request |
| Website file request, protected or private app4 | $0.0000012 per request |
| Bundle file uploaded when publishing5 | $0.000015 per file |
- A page shell (the first HTML file) or an answer from the app’s server.
- Only responses from Pilely’s servers are billed by size. Website files and uploaded files are served from the CDN or from storage: you pay a fixed fee per request or per download link, never for the file’s size.
- A redirect to the file on the public CDN, whatever its size. Charged per request, also when the browser has the file cached.
- A redirect through a short signed link, whatever the file’s size.
- Charged when the file arrives, whether or not the version goes live.
Requests Pilely refuses (no such app or page, caller not allowed, over a rate limit) and the bytes a visitor sends in are not billed.
Simple DB
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| API call | $0.00000267 per call, plus response bytes at $0.30 per GB |
| Read unit1 | $0.00000052 per unit |
| Write unit2 | $0.0000026 per unit |
| File upload3 | $0.00000267 per call plus $0.0000174 per upload |
| File download link4 | $0.0000048 per link, on top of the call |
| Download call5 | $0.0000077 per call |
- 1 unit per 4 KB read; an ordinary read uses half, a strongly consistent read (consistent: true) the full unit. A filtered list pays for every row it reads, including rows the filter drops; a range on the sort column reads only the rows in range.
- 1 unit per 1 KB of the record written, plus the same again for each of the table’s sorts: a small record on a table with only creation order uses about 2 units.
- The upload/start call plus an upload fee, whatever the file’s size. The record write that attaches the file is an ordinary write.
- Each link file_urls adds to records/get or records/list, whatever the file’s size.
- The download call and its one link.
A refused call (not found, not allowed, over a limit, no serving credits) pays no fee and no bytes.
Simple Email
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| API call | $0.00000267 per call |
| Email sent1 | $0.00133 per email |
- An email sent to several people counts once for each recipient.
Simple Group
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| API call | $0.00000267 per call |
Simple Env
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| API call | $0.00000133 per call, plus response bytes at $0.30 per GB |
| Delete | Free |
Simple Workspace
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| Database call1 | $0.00000133 per call, plus response bytes at $0.30 per GB |
| Subscribing to messages2 | One extra database call |
- Made by a request or an open message stream. Once a caller is admitted to a workspace, every answer it gets pays its database calls and bytes, including not-found and 429 answers. An open stream nobody posts to makes no database calls and pays only its bytes.
- For the stream’s ticket check (messages/subscribe).
Simple Server
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| Running server1 | $0.0073 per hour ($5.25 for 30 days) |
| Build | $0.0049 per minute, rounded up |
| Server and build logs | $0.71 per GB written |
| Flow log share2 | $0.70 per GB |
| Server internet traffic sent | $0.45 per GB over IPv4, $0.30 per GB over IPv6 |
| Server internet traffic received | $0.15 per GB over IPv4, free over IPv6 |
| Build internet traffic sent | $0.19 per GB over IPv4, $0.13 per GB over IPv6 |
| Build internet traffic received | $0.064 per GB over IPv4, free over IPv6 |
- Charged at the start of each hour it runs.
- The server network’s traffic record, split each hour across running servers by how much each one’s connections wrote.
For apps with an always-running server. The server’s answers to the app’s users are billed as Traffic.
Storage subscription
| Resource | Price |
|---|---|
| Included with every account | 1 GB |
| Each 100 GB more | $5 per month, up to 1,000 GB |
A monthly allowance for what your apps keep, never charged by time.
What $10 of serving credits can do
Each row is its own example, not a bundle: roughly how much $10 of serving credits pays for if it were spent on that one thing alone.
| App | $10 of serving credits pays for about* |
|---|---|
| A public blog: the newest 3 posts with a photo each | 460,000 visits |
| A photo gallery: a page of 20 photos | 92,000 page views |
| A sign-up or RSVP form, no email | 900,000 sign-ups |
| The same form, with a confirmation email to each person | 7,400 sign-ups |
| Emails sent by an app | 7,500 emails |
| An app with its own always-running server | 57 days of one server, before its traffic |
* All figures are rough estimates under ideal conditions: a small app built the usual way, the prices on this page, and nothing else using the serving credits. Real apps vary with their design, their data and how people use them.
Questions
What happens when my serving credits run out?
Your apps stop serving until you add more, then serve again right away. You get an email when your serving credits run low (below $0.50) and again when they reach $0.
Do my serving credits expire?
No. Serving credits, including the free ones you start with, never expire, and nothing resets each month.
Do I pay Pilely for the AI that builds my app?
No. Your ChatGPT, Claude or other AI plan does the building. Pilely charges only for running your apps.
How do I know what my app will cost?
Ask Pam, Pilely’s assistant. Once your app is built, it works out roughly what the app costs each month at a few sizes, and how long your serving credits last.
